TIPS ON WHERE TO STAY IN VAIL
For many first time visitors it can be overwhelming to plan a winter ski trip or summer vacation to Vail.  Vail has many lodging options to choose from so it’s best if you start off with some basic information.  First, what is your budget?  The most expensive lodging options are found in the four villages (Vail Village, Lionshead, Cascade and Golden Peak).  Vail Village and Lionshead Village boasts the most shopping, dining and nigh life.  Second, do you want convenience to the slopes?  If so, you’ll want to stay in one of these four base areas.  Each base area has ski/in ski/out or “walk to” access to ski lifts or gondolas.  If not, you can find some great deals on the north side of the highway (opposite the ski mountains), or in west or east Vail.  Most of these areas are serviced by the free Vail shuttle, or you can choose to rent a car and park in the many village parking structures.  On average, parking is about $40.00 per day.  Third, what type of lodging do you enjoy?  Do you want a large vacation rental home or condo with kitchen, living room, dining room, private parking, private bedrooms, etc?  If not, you may choose a hotel room that is conveniently located in the area such as The Hyatt at Cascade Village or Sebastian at Vail Village.
